Perth Amboy:  Friends for Preservation of Middlesex County Jewish Cemeteries Inc. has begun restoration and maintenance at the cemeteries owned by Congregation Shaarey Tefiloh.

In addition, the organization has held a series of tours of the cemeteries, the next of which is scheduled for July 12.

The tour will begin at noon at the Hebrew Fraternity Cemetery entry gate on New Brunswick Avenue in Hopelawn.

Following a one-hour tour, the group will move to the Congregation Shaarey Tefiloh Cemetery on Florida Grove Road for a one-hour tour of that cemetery.

Although the tours are free, advance registration is recommended.

The organization has recently published the first issue of its newsletter "The Eternal Vine," which provides an updated report of the group's progress and a list acknowledging and thanking all donors.  The newsletter is available online.

Anyone interested in contributing or obtaining more information about the organization, the newsletter, or the tours is urged to contact Friends for Preservation of Middlesex County Jewish Cemeteries Inc. at:
